i have been reading my The Voice new testament for months now and have thoroughly enjoyed its translation of the new testament. Jesus is referred to as the Liberating King & the gospel stories are written out almost like a script- it brings you right into the drama and story of the life of Jesus. Men and women in the stories of the New Testament do not seem untouchable but you find yourself relating to them with fresh emotion as you are brought into the story in this unique set up of the New Testament.
I don’t read this version all the time as I usually prefer to study and meditate from my NKJV or ESV but when I am really looking to go deep into certain passages I read this alongside my normal translation and it has enriched my time in the Word for sure!

well beloveds i haven’t posted in a month so i figured i would write a lil of whats swirling in my brain.
in my brief experience of life thus far, specifically in the last 4 years sense i have graduated high school i think i have discovered that a lived life = a shared life. i’m pretty sure a majority of people have discovered this as well but i’ve found it hard to actually live in my own life. i’ve been roped in by the EASE of independence… spending my time on myself rather than giving my time as a gift to others. does that make sense? i let insecurity rope me in and bind me- it is easier to keep to myself, have lots of aquaintances but not go deep with people.. surface friendships so it wont be scary to lose them, it is easy to stay home instead go out on the street and make some friends who are having a hard time and dont have a home right now… what if you say the wrong thing? what if people don’t like you? what if you don’t know what to say at all? what if you’re misunderstood? what if you chase a dream but never reach it? what if you make the wrong decision?… it is hard when people really know you because they might not like what they see. it is easy to stay in our own caves alone always waiting for the day we think we’ll finally be enough for people to like us or to achieve our dreams. pastor pete said it perfectly on sunday morning “living a self absorbed life is HELL.” - aint that the truth yall … and insecurity is definitely self absorbtion.
so while insecurity will probably try and raise its voice to me throughout my whole life the cross made it so that i don’t have to listen. i can believe in love instead of lies.
lets live true. feeling what we feel. being who we are. singing along. smelling the flowers. laughing at ourselves. recognizing mistakes & moving past them. closing our eyes and smiling that we are alive for a divine & beautiful purpose - knowing & loving one another.
summer has been oh so sweet - good tunes. laughs with pals. revelation. family time. the familiarity of the streets i grew up on. sunshine sinking through my skin warming my insides. and the most happiness i’ve felt in a long time.
